Calibration

Hello Everyone:

Just to get a succinct answer for this.

I hear Digital Video Essentials has a terrible layout.
People seem to recommend AVIA II.

Can anyone give a recommendation on a good TV calibration DVD?

I am interested in mostly Calibrating an LCD T…

Divx/Xvid has not region restriction, so it is a moot point. Ripping the discs and reburning them will remove the region restriction.

However Sony are notorious for producing single format players as well, and presenting error messages that look like region issues when in fact they are format related.

Some DVD’s contain special features which cannot be accessed by the disks menu. There’s no special features listeded on the disks menu but if you look at the files in Windows Explorer you see VTS’s listed that do contain special features. I can view by double-clicking the vob file in the VTS but there’s seems no way to access them via the disks menu?

Fair enough. Plenty of Philips models that do support region change.

However, my theory is that rather than have a second firmware build for units shipped to the US, I think Philips would likely save money and just not inform the US market how to do it. I hoped someone had one already, but I think I might take a trip down to the nearest <st…

We get posts like yours all the time and there is no harm in asking. However, I’d say that 99 out of 100 don’t get help. 1 out of 100 gets someone to post with a code that almost nobody knows and that can’t be found on any website or by an internet search, at least not very easily It does happen, but it’s rare.

Some DVD players cannot be made…

Opinion:

There are two superhero-satire novels that are my all-time favorites, though. First among equals would have to be Robert Mayer’s brilliant Superfolks.

Of course, easily the most successful original-to-prose superhero series ever would have to be George R. R. Martin’s Wild Cards.
